Gysts Optical Cable Instructions

Gysts Optical Cable Instructions

GYTS optical cables should be installed with care to avoid bending, twisting, or mechanical stress, following proper handling, pulling, and environmental guidelines.Cable Construction and SpecificationsGYTS cables consist of single-mode or multi-mode fibers positioned in loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic, stranded around a metallic central strength member to form a compact, circular core. The cable may include water-blocking materials and a PE outer sheath for protection. Fiber and tube colors follow standard coding (Blue, Orange, Green, Brown, Gray, White, Red) for identification, and the PE sheath typically has a thickness of 1.8 mm. Operating temperature ranges from -40℃ to +60℃. Fiber types include G652, G657 for single-mode and OM1, OM2 for multi-mode fibers, with color codes per EIA/TIA 598B standards .Handling and Installation GuidelinesAvoid sharp bends and twists: Maintain the minimum bend radius specified for the cable to prevent fiber breakage or increased attenuation .Pulling techniques: Use proper pulling methods, avoiding excessive tension, twisting, or squeezing. Use lubricants like paraffin if necessary, but avoid soap or abrasive materials .Figure-8 loops: When laying loops on a surface, use figure-8 loops to prevent twisting. Loop size typically ranges from 2–4 meters depending on cable stiffness .Environmental protection: Keep the cable protected from sharp objects, rocks, or edges. If the cable remains outdoors for more than 24 hours during installation, use protective material to prevent damage .Temperature considerations: Respect the maximum installation and storage temperatures for the cable, noting that these apply to the cable itself, not ambient temperature .Connector care: Protect connectors from contamination and scratches to maintain signal integrity .Additional RecommendationsMechanical stress: Minimize pressure at crossing points, especially for armored cables, to avoid localized damage .Attenuation management: Check total cable length and connector losses to maintain the attenuation budget, particularly when using bulkhead connectors .Module compatibility: Verify cable lengths and specifications with the connected modules to ensure proper operation . By following these guidelines, GYTS optical cables can be installed safely, ensuring long-term reliability and optimal performance in both indoor and outdoor environments.
