RF Optical Module Applications

RF optical modules are used to transmit radio frequency signals over optical fiber, enabling long-distance, low-loss, and interference-resistant communication for satellite, radar, 5G/6G, and broadcasting systems.Overview of RF Optical ModulesRF-over-fiber (RFoF) modules convert RF signals into optical signals for transmission over fiber and then back into RF at the receiver end. Radar and Defense Systems Modules support radar, altimeter, and electronic warfare (EW) systems, providing precise signal distribution and calibration. Optical delay lines integrated with RFoF modules allow testing and simulation of radar signals in both laboratory and field environments . 3. 5G/6G Networks and Wireless Infrastructure RFoF is used for cellular base station testing, mmWave signal distribution, and in-building DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems). It enables centralized signal management and remote monitoring, improving network performance and reducing interference . 4. Broadcasting and Media Optical RF modules facilitate wireless camera feeds, TV, and radio broadcasting, allowing seamless distribution of RF signals across large venues or multiple buildings with minimal signal degradation . 5. GPS and Underground Communication RFoF modules are deployed in GPS-over-fiber systems and in environments where wireless signals are limited, such as mines, tunnels, and subway systems, ensuring reliable navigation and communication . 6.
