Fiber optic position sensors measure object displacement with high precision using light transmitted through optical fibers, offering immunity to electromagnetic interference and suitability for harsh environments.Working PrincipleFiber optic position sensors detect the position of an object by monitoring changes in light within an optical fiber. A light source, typically an LED or laser diode, emits pulses into the fiber, which travels via total internal reflection. A reflector attached to the moving object modulates the light by changing its phase or intensity as the object moves.
