An optical power meter can verify fiber optic cable continuity by measuring light transmission and detecting breaks, but it does not test copper cable continuity.Fiber Optic Continuity TestingOptical power meters are designed to measure the optical power and signal loss in fiber optic networks, which indirectly confirms continuity. By connecting a light source to one end of the fiber and the optical power meter to the other, you can measure the amount of light reaching the far end. If the meter detects light within expected levels, the fiber is continuous; if no light is detected, there is a break or severe attenuation along the cable .
