Attenuation Test of Optical Attenuator

Optical attenuators can be tested using optical power meters, OTDRs, and cut-back methods to measure signal loss accurately.Optical Power Meter (OPM) MethodAn optical power meter measures the absolute or relative power of light at the end of a fiber optic cable. To test an attenuator, the power is measured before and after the attenuator is inserted into the optical path. The difference in power indicates the attenuation level.
