Basic Fault Diagnosis of Relay Protection

Relay protection fault diagnosis combines traditional relay testing with modern AI-based methods to detect, analyze, and prevent faults in power systems.Traditional Relay Fault DiagnosisRelay testing is a critical step in identifying faults in electromechanical and solid-state relays. For used relays, functionality must be tested at higher voltages and currents than normal operating conditions, typically around 12V and 100–500 mA, to account for contact pitting and arc residue from previous operations (TE Connectivity).
